Flame Retardant

Flame Retardant and How it could save your life¡

¡°How Does Flame Retardant Help Slow The Spread Of Fire

and How Will it Help You?¡±

Flame Retardant is an agent that¡¯s exceptionally difficult to burn

Dear friend,

It¡¯s now proven by utilising Flame Retardant on fabrics and textiles will dramatically slow the burning of flammable materials. Materials like upholstery, bed sheets, fabrics, carpets, and the most flammable fire accelerator in any home of office¡ the curtains.

Fire rises so to speak and it thrives when climbing a highly flammable material like curtains. Burning curtains act as the perfect fire accelerator BUT what do you think would happen if the fire had trouble burning the curtains?

Could a delay in the fire spreading help save lives?

If I may be so bold as to say, ¡°Investing in flame retardant could save your life or the life of one you treasure, not to mention the possibility of saving one of the most expensive items you own¡ your home or business.¡±

Because the flame retardant applications I use are commercially related, I typically find myself being hired by large companies, hotels and corporate offices. However, there is now a growing demand by many home owners who are investing in the application of a flame retardant to be applied to their curtains.

What Is Flame Retardant?

Flame retardant is a chemical that dramatically slows the spread of fire. A quality and professionally applied flame retardant can really slow the spread of fire and aid fire fighters in an emergency.

A good example of flame retardant is a coupling agent, or what is commonly known as a polymeric coupling agent. It is a polymer that attaches an inorganic filler to the polymer surroundings.

Characteristically, the fillers are Calcium Carbonate, Glass fibers, Talc, or a flame retardant known as ATH (Aluminumtrihydrate) or what is also known as Mg(OH)2 (Magnesium hydroxide).

The basis for the addition fillers are sometimes to lower the cost of the polymer (CaC03, Talc), to make it stiffer (glass fibers, CaCO3) or to craft it as a flame retardant or flame resistant compound so that it won¡¯t burn when ignited (ATH, Mg(OH)2).

Just like home security systems, most people will usually only install a security system after they have been robbed. In the flame retardant industry it¡¯s comparable in the same way that most people will usually invest in flame retardant after they have experienced a fire and their life has been in danger.

Until you¡¯ve actually experienced the horror of a home of office fire and how rapidly the fire spreads you may feel that putting the application of flame retardant on hold will be fine... But, utilising a product that slows the spread of the fire dramatically can be a very intelligent decision and give you piece of mind.

When you invest in the application of flame retardant you¡¯re not just investing in the possibility of saving your furnishings, your home or office, you¡¯re investing in the possibility of saving lives¡ people you love, people you work with.

Looking at things from a business point of view¡ When you invest in the application of flame retardant to help prevent the spread of fire and ultimately stop your premises from burning down you could one day experience: Running your business the very next day and earning money as apposed to staring at a pile of smouldering rubble.

The thought of not being able to run your business and losing customers (because they will have to shop elsewhere) as a result of a fire would be devastating to your bottom line. A fire is devastation all round and the simple application of flame retardant can prevent all this with one phone call.
