Dear friend,
The application of Fire Retardant is now proven
to dramatically slow the burning of flammable materials such as
upholstery fabrics, carpets,
bed sheets and one of the most flammable fire accelerator in any
fire, curtains.
If I may be so bold as to say, ¡°Investing
in fire retardant could save your life or the life of one you treasure, not to
mention one of the most expensive items you own¡ your home or business.¡±

As the majority of the fire retardant
applications I do are commercially related, I typically find myself being hired
by large corporations. However, recently there is a growing demand from many
home owners who are investing in the application of a fire retardant to be
applied to their curtains and other flammable fabrics.
So
What Is Fire Retardant?
Fire retardant is a chemical that slows the
spread of fire. A quality and professionally applied fire retardant can help
fire fighters as it can dramatically slow the spread of fire.
An example of fire retardant is a coupling
agent, or what is commonly known as a polymeric coupling agent which is a
polymer that attaches an inorganic filler to the polymer environment.
Characteristically, fillers are Calcium Carbonate, Glass fibers, Talc,
or a flame retardant known as ATH (Aluminumtrihydrate)
or what is also known as Mg(OH)2 (Magnesium hydroxide).
The principle for the addition fillers is
sometimes to lower the cost of the polymer (CaC03, Talc), make it
stiffer (glass fibers, CaCO3) or to create it as a flame retardant
or flame resistant so that it won¡¯t burn when ignited (ATH, Mg(OH)2).
Our special Textile
fire retardant is a concentrated flame retardant that successfully treats
fabrics and other cellulosic materials. The Textile
flame retardant is becoming the most widely used fire retardant in many
industries today and can easily be applied to your fabrics in the home or at
the office. The best part about the fire retardant we apply is that it is completely
safe and water based.
All fabrics treated
will be accompanied with a Certificate of Compliance (Australian Standard,
cleaned up to five times in accordance with AS1530 Parts 2 & 3) as required
by the Building AS2001.5.4 Procedure 7A of Building Code of Australia.

The truth is; you won¡¯t wake up in the
morning and suddenly realise the fire retarding has not been done yet - BUT - investing in fire retardant as a
safety precaution to slow a fast spreading fire can be incredibly priceless. As
we both know, saving your business is one thing, however when you take
responsibility that could save the life of a colleague or a loved one because
you invested wisely in fire retardant¡ it is money well spent, would you agree?

Just like home security systems, the most
common time one will install a security system is after they have been robbed.
The fire retardant industry tends to be very similar in the sense that the
majority of people will usually invest in fire retardant after they have been
through a fire and don¡¯t want to ever go through the same traumatic experience
again.
Because fire burns and spreads so quickly
it makes sense to utilise fire retardant as it slows the spread of the fire
dramatically.
When you make the wise decision to invest
in the application of fire retardant you are not just investing in the
possibility of saving the lives of people you love, you are also investing in a
product that could save you thousands and even millions of dollars by helping
to preventing the loss of a home or business.
If this simple application of fire
retardant helps prevent the spread of fire and ultimately stops your premises
from burning down, (from a commercial point of view) it will save you money as
you are still able to operate your business tomorrow as apposed to a pile of
burnt out ruins.
Just the thought of not being able to run a
business and losing customers as a result of a fire can be devastating to your
bottom line. A fire is devastation all round and the simple application of fire
retardant can prevent all this in one phone call.

with fire retardant.
